BCSA Members Grievance Procedure

To be completed within 10 days of the grievance offense.

1.) Member: Print out BCSA Grievance Form from the BCSA Website and fill it out.

2.) Member: Choose one (1) of the BCSA Stewards from the website who will serve as your point of                   contact for the grievance.

3.) Steward: Will set up a meeting to verify violations of the Terms & Conditions of the Collective                         Bargaining Agreement and/or City of Bridgeport workplace policies.

4.) Steward: Will follow Article 13 - Grievance and Arbitration Procedure as stated in the Collective                   Bargaining Agreement.

 
To be completed within 7 days following the previous listed steps.

5.) Steward (Step 1): If grievance is valid, Steward will deliver the filled out grievance form to the                     member's Supervisor/Department  Head within ten (10) days of the date of the grievance or the                 employee’s knowledge of its occurrence, whichever is later, then pick up completed grievance form         from the member’s Supervisor/Department Head after it has been accepted or denied and signed off       by their Supervisor/Department Head within seven (7) working days of the date of receipt.

6.) Steward: Will deliver the completed grievance form to Labor Relations  and notify the BCSA President
to ensure the process of Step II was presented to Labor Relations within ten (10) days after the response of the Supervisor/Department Head is due. Steward is to ask for a copy of the grievance form with the Date/Time stamp and deliver a copy to the BCSA President.

7.) President or his/her designee: Within one (1) week after submission, a meeting shall be held between         the Association Representative and the Labor Relations Director or his/her designee for the 

      purpose of adjusting the grievance.
